CREATIVE PROCESS

I take on a limited number of new clients per month to ensure that each project gets the attention it deserves. You will work directly with me (Yay!), and will be involved in the process every step of the way. 

 Although the process varies slightly depending on the client and scope of work, this will give you a general idea of what to expect.

HOW IT WORKS

Check out the ‘Are We a Good Match section’ below and just have a quick scan to see if we will be a good match. I would love to work with you if you are committed to the process, passionate about your business but willing to give me creative freedom according to your vision, and ready to get this project started!

We will begin with chat over email, a call or if you are local, a coffee and catch up. Once we’ve had that initial discussion and we have locked in a start date, I’ll send you a quote to be approved, you’ll receive a contract to sign, followed by an invoice for the 40% retainer. The non-refundable 40% retainer is due before any work commences, and is required to book your spot on my calendar.

To make sure we have a strong base to build your project upon, I’ll send you a questionnaire/s to fill out about your business, your audience and your vision. After you have filled it in, this will become our Project Brief from your answers and our ‘bible’ so to speak for our visual inspiration and creative direction that we want to take for your project. 

Once your project brief is signed off and ready to be implemented, you will send your content in a cloud transfer service (WeTransfer) or in 1 x email so I can begin to work on your design from a centralized source. This is an important step as while we will be working collaboratively, I’ll be relying on you to have your final content through, proofed and ready to go.

Where the magic happens! Using your brief as a guide, I will start to create concepts and draft out designs. Once I am happy with a first draft, I will send it through for review and then we will begin the process refinement rounds. You will have 3 business days to make and send feedback, and I will make the edits from there until you are 100% happy with the look.

After you have signed off on any final designs, I will package up any files into a cloud-based folder or transfer your new site to you, and complete the project. Then it’s time to celebrate! Your new website, brand, or design is now live and ready to launch. Once you have begun to promote your new design to the world, I will showcase it on my website and social media channels as I am your biggest supporter, and cannot wait to see you succeed!

WHAT PLATFORMs DO YOU DESIGN ON?

Yes. Payments are broken into multiple parts depending on project type.

There is a non-refundable retainer that needs to be paid up front in order to secure your booking and my services, and the remainder that can be paid according the the payment scheme discussed on booking (the balance is always settled before the project is completed).

do you offer payment plans?

Yes. You must have all content ready to go by our agreed upon start date. This may include (but is not limited to) page text and imagery for a website project, branding ready for social templates, or your business name and identified ideal target audience for branding design.

Do I need to have my content ready before the project starts?

If you pay your retainer to book your spot but then do not complete your project homework or do not commit to having your content ready to go, you will be bumped to the next available spot and required to pay a rescheduling fee to re-book your project back in (outlined in my contracts).

What if i don’t have content ready by the start date?

If for some reason you are still not happy after two rounds of refinement, we will continue the refinement process at my current hourly rate. We go through an in-depth questionnaire and briefing process in the beginning to make sure we are on the same page, so 99% of the time 2 refinement rounds are plenty!

What happens if I am not happy with my design after 2 revision rounds?

Short answer - possibly. Each project timeline is thoughtfully created to give us enough time for research, designing and refinement rounds. However, there are some circumstances in which your project may be able to be turned around quicker if the situation allows. Pricing will be based on your requirements and a rush fee may be added depending on the deadline/complexity of the project.

Can you create my design faster?

As much as I love connecting and working with new people, sometimes it just isn’t an instant match made in heaven and that isn’t anyone’s fault! While I do my best to accommodate your needs and 100% support and help you with your business journey, our styles and processes just may not sync up.

If you do love my work/aesthetic but cannot tick some of these boxes, please still get in touch as we might be able to come up with a way to work around them or I may know a designer who would be a perfect fit for the job!
