EQUITY STATEMENT

I am unwavering in my commitment to fostering a future where every individual, irrespective of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, ability, or socioeconomic status, is afforded equal treatment and opportunity.

Personally, I pledge to adopt an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+-inclusive, and trans-affirming approach that centers the experiences and needs of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities, as well as individuals across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, including transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, who face intersecting forms of discrimination and mistreatment. I envision a nation and a city where success, safety, and well-being are not predetermined by racial identity or sexual orientation and gender identity. A place where all businesses and individuals, regardless of race or LGBTQIA+ identity, have equal opportunities to flourish, share their narratives, and contribute to collective growth.

Acknowledging my privilege as a white individual, I recognize that my actions, both conscious and unconscious, have perpetuated disparities and limited opportunities for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. I am committed to rectifying these injustices by actively addressing institutional racism, LGBTQIA+ discrimination, and transphobia within our organization. This commitment includes investing in ongoing anti-racist, LGBTQIA+, and trans-affirming education, fostering open dialogue, addressing conflicts transparently, and allocating resources to support and uplift BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities in tangible ways, such as hiring diverse talent, partnering with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+-owned businesses, and amplifying their voices in our endeavors.

In summary, I am dedicated to advancing equity, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and trans affirmation in all aspects of our work and beyond, recognizing that achieving true justice requires persistent action, introspection, and a steadfast commitment to dismantling systems of oppression based on race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
